Coventry Blogger Event at The Ivy

On Friday I went to my first Coventry Bloggers networking event which was being hosted by Emily of The Emily Chapters. It was a cocktails evening with a Benefit demo, giveaways, henna and most importantly for me, the chance to meet other bloggers from Coventry and the surrounding area.

We were greated by Emily at the Ivy and taken up to the private room where we headed to the bar for our cocktails. The Ivy had an offer on the cocktails where it was two for the price of one if you went for the same cocktail so we had two strawberry daiquiris which I was not expecting to be as huge and epic as they were! The icy drink was perfect for the hot sunny Bank Holiday we’ve been having.

We then started with the Benefit demo where they were showing some of their products in use and having a quiz with a mascara prize. It’s not one I participated in for two reasons; I have no eyelashes to use the mascara on and they aren’t a cruelty free brand (I may do a post about cruelty free make up in the week). We were perfectly happy to take a seat though and drink our cocktails.

Once the demo had finished we started chatting with some of the other blogger, some of whom I follow already and some I discovered for the first time. It was great to meet other bloggers, I hadn’t realised there were so many of us in the area and I enjoyed getting to know people a little rather than just over social media and as the night developed I learnt I was known for doing the GoApe experience because they had loved our footage!

There were a few other samples avaliable for us to try and once I’ve given them a go I’ll report back on how I found them. I did try the henna as well (done by Mendhi by Naveeda) and loved it, it’s amazing to watch how they can do beautiful and detailed patterns and make it look so easy (I’d make a right mess!) and we watched a couple being done as well as having my own pattern done.

It was a great evening and hope to go to many more in the future. You can see more about what Coventry Bloggers get up as well as entering amazing competitions by going to the Facebook page:

Thank you to Emily for hosting, to everybody who helped set up and run the event and to The Ivy for having us.
